Since October last year, Doxa has been teaming up with the I Can Network to run multiple community-building and mentoring camps for young people on the autism spectrum. Created with the intention to connect young people with a supportive fraternity, Chris Varney founded the I Can Network in 2013.
The I Can Network visits both the Malmsbury and City campsites to conduct multiple weekend camps throughout the year, which are all facilitated by I Can volunteers and team leaders. In addition to delivering challenge based activities at camp, Doxa also assists the I Can Network with creating high quality experiences that are tailored to the specific needs of their campers.
These camps celebrate the unique strengths shown by young people on the autism spectrum, help them develop friendships and provide a social network with others who share the ‘I Can’ ethos.
Doxa is proud to work with an organisation that empowers young people to embrace life’s opportunities and inspires them to support others in the community.
