Tell us a bit about yourself?
I studied a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Melbourne, and my Cadetship placement was at the Australian Taxation Office in the Procurement team. Today, I work in Telstra as an Operations Manager in the Enterprise Business unit. My team is responsible for managing the service and relationship with our large corporate customers, and to increase and maintain their expenditure with Telstra. My role is focused on continuous improvement in roles and processes, to increase productivity and our performance on customer metrics.
What experiences from the Cadetship program have stayed with you the most?
The mentors and friends I have gained from my time in the ATO are the highlights, many of whom I still catch up with every now and then.
What’s an achievement you are most proud of and why?
I was involved in successfully influencing senior stakeholders to implement a process that I helped define, resulting in actual improvement in KPI results and positive customer feedback.
What’s the best part of your job?
I’m empowered by a great manager who gives me the autonomy to tackle complex problems in my own way.
What advice for success would you give our current and future Cadets?
“Enjoy all the good things in the moment!”
There are pros and cons to every stage of your life – embrace all the positives that you may not have later on. Make the most of it!
