Support to reach your potential
The Cadetship Program supports talented young people facing challenging life circumstances to complete university and gain the skills needed for an employable future.
The Program is open to year 12 students planning to go to university and is a three to five-year program, depending on the length of your degree.
We are with you all the way from your transition to first year university to graduation.

A cadetship is more than a scholarship or internship.
It’s a holistic program which provides you with financial support, connections, professional mentorship and a work placement aligned with your career aspirations.
Program Inclusions
Educational resource allowance annually
Weekly financial assistance for living expenses from your sponsor organisation
Up to 8 weeks professional work placement each year with a sponsor company
Mentor support to develop career goals and objectives for work placements
Professional development and vocational training
Practical and personal support during your university course
Connection with peers and the cadet alumni community
Industry networking opportunities to develop professional connections
Eligibility
Cadetships are open to young people facing challenging life circumstances who have finished high school and are about to go to university. This may include, but is not restricted to:
- Experiencing financial hardship,
- Having an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage,
- Coming from a newly arrived migrant or refugee background
- Having faced stressful life events
- Coming from a rural or remote area
- Being the first in family to to study at university
