Over the past couple of months, I’ve had the privilege of getting to know many of you across our community, and I want to sincerely thank you for the warm welcome. It’s been a fantastic start spending time with our staff, volunteers, partners and supporters, and seeing firsthand the care, energy and pride that goes into what we do.
What has stood out most is the shared commitment to creating meaningful, engaging and memorable experiences for every young person who comes through our programs. Whether it’s on camp, behind the scenes in the kitchen or admin coordination, or in the many conversations that shape what we do, there is a deep sense of purpose that runs through this organisation.
I’ve also been impressed by the way our community supports one another. There is a strong culture of stepping in, lifting each other up, and ensuring that even during busy or challenging periods, the experience for participants remains front and centre. That collective effort is what enables us to consistently deliver high-quality programs and create lasting impact.
As we look forward, my focus is on continuing to build on this strong foundation, supporting our people with the tools, clarity and backing they need to do what they do best. This includes strengthening how we work together, investing in capability, and ensuring our systems and structures help, not hinder, the incredible work happening every day.
We also have a real opportunity to continue growing our reach and deepening our impact. By building strong partnerships, listening closely to feedback, and being intentional about where we focus our energy, we can ensure more young people benefit from the experiences we know are so powerful.
Just as importantly, I want us to continue to share and celebrate these moments. There is so much happening across our programs that deserves to be recognised, from small everyday wins through to significant milestones. Taking the time to acknowledge this not only reinforces our impact, but also strengthens the sense of connection across our community.
I’m excited for what’s ahead and grateful to be part of it with you all.
